STEPONAS ZONYS
Baritone
Baritone Steponas Zonys graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2016, where he studied Vocal Performance under Professor Eduardas Kaniava. While still a student, he joined the Klaipėda State Musical Theatre (2014–2019), performing several major baritone roles. In 2016–2017, he took part in the Young Artist Programme of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (LNOBT).
Since 2019, Zonys has been a member of the ensemble at the LNOBT, where he continues to perform leading baritone roles. He is a laureate of numerous national and Baltic vocal competitions and has been widely recognized for both his artistry and stage presence.
His awards include:
- Best Opera Singer of the Year (LNOBT Soloists of the Year Awards) for the seasons 2020/2021 and 2021/2022
- Best and Most Promising Young Music Performer (2021), awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania
- Opera Hope of the Future (2019), LNOBT Soloists of the Year Awards
- Most Beloved Artist (2019), voted by the audience of Klaipėda State Musical Theatre
- Švyturys Scholarship (2015)
- A special award from President Dalia Grybauskaitė for international contributions to Lithuania
